[Part 1] Ingredients to Avoid

FD&C Colors: In almost all commercial products! colors are made from coal tar, containing heavy metal salts that deposit toxins into the skin. Absorption of certain colors can cause depletion of oxygen in the body. Studies have also shown them to be carcinogenic.


Fragrances: In almost all commercial products! Can contain up to four  thousand separate synthetic ingredients, many toxic and 
carcinogenic. Fragrances can affect the central nervous system, causing depression, hyperactivity, irritability, inability to cope, and other behavioral
changes.

 Mineral Oil: In baby care products! petroleum by-product that coats the skin like plastic, suffocating the pores which interferes with skin’s ability to eliminate toxins, slows down skin function and cell development.

Polyethylene Glycol (PEG): carcinogenic and can alter and reduce the skin’s natural moisture
factor leaving you more vulnerable to bacteria. Is used in cleansers to dissolve oil and grease. 

Propylene Glycol (PG) and Butylene Glycol: Common in "natural" deodorants; weakens protein and cellular structure. 
Because these ingredients penetrates the skin so quickly, the EPA warns against skin contact to prevent consequences such as brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities. 

 
Triclosan: In hand soaps and sanitizers, tooth paste and household cleaners - mainly used in homes and schools daily! A claimed “antibacterial” ingredient –similar to round-up! Registered  as a pesticide. It suspected of causing cancer in humans. Its manufacturing process may produce dioxin, a powerful hormone-disrupting chemical with toxic effects.  It is a hormone disruptor interfering with the way hormones perform, such as It can deactivate sensory nerve endings, so contact with it often causes little or no pain.  Stored in body fat, it can accumulate to toxic levels, damaging the liver, kidneys and lungs.  Some studies show that triclosan contributes to the prevalence of super bugs!
