Rose Geranium (South African)
Botanical Name: Pelargonium capitatum x radens (this is a specific cross species and not the same as our regular Geranium. This cross species of rose geranium oil is well known for its ability to repel ticks* This species is found in many areas along the coasts of South Africa and is believed to have been amongst the earliest scented geraniums brought to England from Holland in 1690. In fact this particular species has a high concentration of Geraniol, Citronellol and Linalool, naturally occurring chemical compounds that act to repel ticks. Basically, ticks can't stand the smell of this plant!
