Nutmeg Essential Oil
Botanical name:
Myristica fragrans.
Nutmeg's scent is soft, spicy, and woody with a slightly musky note.
Uses: Nutmeg is a strong anti-microbial essential oils which is beneficial for diffusing during cold & flu season; A warming oil great for circulation and sore muscles (diluted well); some studies show diffusing nutmeg may help reduce seizures.
A 2009 study revealed that Nutmeg has demonstrated anticonvulsant effects in animal models and therefore may be effective against grand mal and partial seizures (Wahab et al 2009)
Precautions: Consult your doctor before use if under medical care; avoid eyes; Dilute before use. (Max. 2%) May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use; keep all oils out of reach of children.
